About Echo Trails
ECHO Trails is a Trip Advisor “Hall of Fame” designated tours company.
Since our inception, we have annually received their “Certificate of Excellence”.
In our Trip Advisor reviews, read first-hand about the amazing experiences and wonderful memories that people have enjoyed on our walking, hiking and biking tours.
Our Beginnings
ECHO Trails tours began in 2011 with the philosophy “Relate & be Visitor-focused.” We specialize in small group tours, tailored to each person – communicating the wonders & joys of Switzerland.
Our guides reside in Switzerland. They are all native English speaking. They are able to discuss the important features and culture of each area. Their fluency enables them to share their Swiss story and experiences.
We offer tours in Lucerne, Lugano, St. Moritz, Zermatt, Grindelwald & Zürich.
Each tour’s is leisurely. There is plenty of time to take photos and to get as much information from your guide as you want. Frequently a stop at a local scenic restaurant is included. For more of a challenge, try our custom multi-day Adventure Hike of Lake Lucerne or the Adventure Hike in the Jungfrau region.
We use the efficient Swiss public transportation system (buses, trains, boats, cable-cars) for all our transfers allowing you to get more of an authentic flavor of daily life.
Our mission is to to “Wow” you and make this a most memorable experience!
Our Name
The acronym ECHO stands for Ecological, Culture, Heritage and Outdoors, and represents some of the main things you want to do and know about when you visit a new place.
We offer:
- 10 different guided day tours (full-day and half-day) in the beautiful Lake Lucerne area, the heart of Switzerland
- Guided day tours in other Swiss destinations – Lugano, St. Moritz, Zermatt, Grindelwald, and Zurich.
- 2 different multi-day Adventure Hikes
- Our 12 day Grand Rail Tour of Switzerland – a combination of great Swiss trains and guided walking tours
We’ve happily guided over 700 very satisfied clients through the Swiss-German, French, Italian, and Romanisch speaking regions of Switzerland.
Our Guides
Our team of fluent English-speaking tour guides all live nearby and are happy to answer any questions about Switzerland – the country, its heritage and its culture. Our guides are also passionate about sharing their Switzerland story; chief adventure officer, René Welti is a Swiss-American, Swiss-certified hiking guide with a 25+ year career in tourism who has led more tours and trips to and through Switzerland than he can remember.
All our guides are selected on their ability to “relate to visitors” and to provide you that “Most Memorable” day of your Swiss visit. Our guides have personally hiked all the tours and know each route (as well as alternatives for that just-in-case situation) so as to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience for the participants
