Your guide will escort you to your hotel in Lucerne. After checking in your guide can offer you a two-hour walking tour of the old town of Lucerne.

Meet your guide at your hotel in Lucerne in the morning, and enjoy a 1-hour Lake Lucerne cruise to Beckenried. 

In Beckenried you’ll take the cable car up to 1593 m / 5220 ft to begin your hike. The hike is flexible and you can discuss with your guide if you want to hike more or less, depending on your preference and  fitness level.

Today your guide will make sure you learn everything you need to know about hiking in Switzerland, so you can enjoy the rest of your tour on your own. You will learn how the trails are signed and assess the difficulty, distance and terrain type of the trail. 

After the hike you will descend by cable car to catch a postal bus to Seelisberg.

Enjoy a 2 to 3-hour hike from Seelisberg to Bauen, followed by a scenic boat ride from Bauen to Brunnen.

Start your adventure by ascending the Urmiberg cable car to 1198 m / 3930 ft, followed by a pleasant 5-to-6-hour hike to reach your overnight accommodation at Rigi Kaltbad.

Tailor the hiking route to match your fitness level, and don’t hesitate to inquire about alternative paths. In case of unfavorable weather, there are diverse options available.

Today your hiking trip around Lake Lucerne will lead you around the Swiss “Queen of Mountains”, Mount Rigi. 

You can choose to:

  • Embark on a hike to Rigi Kulm for a breathtaking view, then hop on the cogwheel train to Vitznau and continue your journey to Lucerne by boat.
  • Opt for a cable car descent to Weggis, followed by a brief stroll to the harbor, and return to Lucerne via boat.
  • another option that suits your preferences.

Visa, Maestro, and Mastercard are commonly accepted in Switzerland. American Express is not so popular and many businesses don’t accept it. The country is becoming more and more cashless with contactless and mobile payments (Google and Apple Pay). Still, it’s useful to have some cash on you while travelling. Good Fitness Required

This is a hiking tour and while most of the trail do not involve any challenging up or downhill stretches, you require good physical health, endurance, sense of balance and sure-footedness.

Many paths are uneven and rocky, sometimes very narrow with steep hills on both sides. Previous experience in mountain hiking is advised. Make sure you bring good gear: sturdy hiking boots to protect your ankles, clothes made of breathable materials, a hat, a good backpack, sunblock and water bottle.
